Analogue 3D firmware v1.2.6: your N64 cartridges are now displayed in color in the menu
Analogue releases firmware v1.2.6 for Analogue 3D, its FPGA console compatible with Nintendo 64 cartridges. The main update: it is now possible to customize the color of N64 cartridges displayed in the console's graphical interface.
Colors for each cartridge
Firmware v1.2.6 offers several cartridge colors selectable in the menu : gray, red, green, blue, yellow, gold, black, purple and pink. By default, each game is assigned a color determined by its release date and region, replicating the different cartridge colors actually used by Nintendo in different markets over the years.
Analogue says it spent more than a year carefully calibrating the exact shades to faithfully reproduce the original colors. Owners can, however, override the defaults and manually choose the color they prefer for each cartridge.
A careful update in the Analogue tradition
Beyond the visual aspect, this firmware v1.2.6 also includes stability and emulation fixes. The Analogue 3D stands out from the competition by the frequency of its updates and the quality of its interface details, usual characteristics of Analogue products since the Pocket.
