Analogue's 3DOS 1.5.1 firmware lets players tweak overclocking and Force Original Hardware without leaving the game, plus a fully customizable cartridge library.

Analogue has rolled out the 3DOS 1.5.1 update for the Analogue 3D, the FPGA console that plays Nintendo 64 cartridges in 4K. Released on September 23, 2026, this version lets players adjust overclocking and the Force Original Hardware option directly from within a game, without going back to the main menu, a change the community had been asking for.

On the technical side, Analogue improved the emulated CPU's instruction-cache behavior, benefiting the most demanding games, and fixed a regression that caused abnormal video cropping in certain titles. Horizontal upscaling and progressive output also run more smoothly.

Library customization takes a big step forward. Unrecognized cartridges can now have their title, developer and publisher entered manually, and default settings across the entire N64 library have been optimized. The firmware also adds in-game memory card creation from the menu, plus hardware and display reset options.

To download 3DOS 1.5.1, head to Analogue's official support page, which also walks new console owners through the step-by-step update process.
