Anbernic Updates Its NNDDSS Emulator to Version 1.0.2 on the RG DS Plus

Anbernic has released version 1.0.2 of NNDDSS, its in-house Nintendo DS emulator for the RG DS Plus, its latest dual-screen clamshell handheld launched on September 15, 2026. The update, announced on September 22 across the manufacturer's social channels, directly targets issues reported by early buyers: stuttering in some 3D titles and intermittent audio crackling.

The update's headline feature is dynamic 3D upscaling, capable of doubling the internal resolution on compatible games, along with three new display shaders and a firmware language menu now covering seven languages. Save states have also been reworked to reduce crashes reported on some memory-heavy titles.

The RG DS Plus packs two 4.3-inch IPS screens at 1024 x 768, a built-in capacitive stylus, and an alloy hinge adjustable from 15° to 180°, priced at $84.99 for the first 72 hours and $94.99 afterward. Like most proprietary DS emulators from Chinese handheld makers, NNDDSS remains closed-source software not based on DeSmuME or melonDS.
