The PlayStation 3 emulator for Android smartphones reaches a new milestone with version 1.0.5, which fixes several games and catches up with 38 RPCS3 patches, just before its official arrival on the Play Store.

The team behind ARMSX2, already known for its PlayStation 2 emulator on Android, keeps developing ARMSX3, a port of the popular PlayStation 3 emulator RPCS3 adapted for ARM chips found in smartphones. Version 1.0.5, released on September 27, 2026, fixes several notable games: Demon's Souls now works online right after installation by connecting directly to the community server The Archstones, Stuntman: Ignition gets its audio back, and Mortal Kombat Komplete Edition finally makes it past the Warner Bros. logo without crashing.

This update also fixes a rare save-state bug that could crash the app, improves handling of game licenses and trial versions, and now lets you pick the firmware library (LLE or HLE) on a per-game basis directly from the settings. On top of that, the app catches up with 38 fixes from the PC RPCS3 project published in September, covering audio, video, memory management and several trophies.

An official Play Store launch is just around the corner

The developers say a build for closed Google Play Store testers has already gone out, signaling that an official version of ARMSX3 is about to hit the Android store. In the meantime, the app can be downloaded directly as an APK from the project's official GitHub repository, where a getting-started guide is also available on the official armsx3.net website.

⚠️ ARMSX3 is still a young, experimental project: check your game's compatibility and the exact app version before diving in, as the situation can change quickly from one update to the next.
