AYANEO unveils two new KONKR Pocket Advance colorways, to the dismay of some buyers
Ever since its July 2026 announcement, AYANEO's KONKR Pocket Advance, an unabashed Android-powered Game Boy Advance clone capable of emulating up to PS2 games, has kept generating buzz. The Chinese brand unveiled two new colorways in early August: Peach Pink and Onyx Ice, the latter introducing the device's very first transparent shell.
"They should have shown us all the colours from the beginning"
The issue isn't the colorways themselves, which have been well received visually, but the pace at which they're being announced. AYANEO has been dropping a new shade every few days since pre-orders opened, a marketing strategy that's rubbing part of its community the wrong way: more than 15,000 units had already sold before these two latest versions even arrived. Worse, the company doesn't let buyers who already pre-ordered simply switch colorways; they have to request a refund and place an entirely new order to get the new shade, earning the company accusations of being "scummy as hell" from several users on social media.
Despite the controversy, the KONKR Pocket Advance remains available to order on AYANEO's official store, starting at $89 for the 3GB RAM / 32GB storage version.
