D4 Enterprise adds Haidefosu, a 1989 MSX2 shoot 'em up, to its EGG Console collection on Nintendo Switch, complete with a digitized gallery mode and period manual.

Japanese publisher D4 Enterprise launched the 107th release in its EGG Console collection on Nintendo Switch on July 9, 2026, with Haidefosu MSX2, a horizontal shoot 'em up originally published in 1989 by studio Herz for the MSX2 computer. The game puts players in control of a ship tasked with repelling the Metal Creature, an enemy faction that has invaded the fictional planet Tiar.

Beyond the usual power-ups and speed changes, Haidefosu stands out for its "Hyde Control" system, support modules with varying abilities that players can swap out at resupply bases scattered throughout each level, alongside a full ship change option. Level progression also shifts based on the player's actions, offering unusual replay value for a title of its era.

This EGG Console re-release keeps to D4 Enterprise's preservation-minded spirit: it includes a gallery mode letting players browse the original instruction manual and packaging exactly as they existed in Japan in 1989, a level of historical care found across the entire EGG Console range.

Haidefosu MSX2 is available now for 880 yen on the Japanese Nintendo eShop, with a detailed preview of the game available on 4Gamer.
