Flashcart maker Krikzz has revealed the EverDrive-64 PRO, a new high-end Nintendo 64 cartridge featuring a dedicated 64DD FPGA core, long requested by the community.

Krikzz, a go-to name in retro gaming flashcarts, officially announced the EverDrive-64 PRO on August 2, 2026, a new high-end cartridge for the Nintendo 64. It joins the existing lineup as a step above the EverDrive-64 X7, featuring a faster Cyclone 10 FPGA chip, 128MB of SDRAM (a major jump from previous capacity) allowing ROMs larger than 64MB to load, and a six-layer PCB with a hard-gold finish.

Priced at $169.99, the EverDrive-64 PRO will be available in original-cartridge grey as well as several transparent colourways. The first units, in grey, transparent clear, and ice blue, are expected to ship within three weeks according to Krikzz.

Native 64DD support, the most requested feature

The big new addition on this PRO model is a dedicated core for the 64DD, the Japan-only magnetic disk drive that remained a niche accessory back in the day. Until now, playing 64DD games on a flashcart required workarounds and patches to compensate for the lack of native support; the EverDrive-64 PRO makes them directly readable, complete with a dedicated button to simulate disk swapping. The cartridge also packs an FPGA-based NES core, support for all Game Pak save types (SRAM, EEPROM, FlashRAM), a real-time clock, Controller Pak and Transfer Pak management, and IPS/APS auto-patching, handy for ROM hacks.

Facing competition from the SummerCart64, the EverDrive-64 PRO leans on this unprecedented 64DD compatibility to justify its higher price point, an argument likely to appeal to collectors and preservationists looking to run the entire N64 catalogue off a single cartridge.
