Jotego expands MiSTer FPGA and Analogue Pocket with Double Dribble, Cabal and a new Gaelco core
Spanish FPGA developer Jotego released a new wave of arcade cores for MiSTer FPGA and Analogue Pocket on July 7, 2026, bringing Double Dribble, Konami's 1986 basketball game, and Cabal, the over-the-shoulder shooter published by TAD Corporation in 1988.
Both titles join an ever-growing library of cores faithful to the original hardware, replicating arcade board behavior cycle-for-cycle rather than through simple software emulation. Jotego also used this update to unveil JTGAE1, its very first multi-game core dedicated to Spanish manufacturer Gaelco, covering Thunder Hoop, Squash, Biomechanical Toy and Big Karnak.
The JTTOKI core, which already handled the platformer Toki, has also been completely reworked to more closely match the original arcade board's structure, a technical improvement that will benefit the developer's future ports.
The new cores are first distributed through Jotego's Patreon for early-access backers, then bundled into the public jtbin repository once the exclusivity period ends. The simplest way to install them on MiSTer remains the Update All tool paired with the official guide posted on the MiSTer FPGA forum, which walks through enabling Jotego's beta and premium cores.
