The Miniloong Pocket 1 is finally getting new colors

Chinese manufacturer Miniloong unveiled four new finishes for its Pocket 1 in early July 2026, a small retro handheld with a 4-inch 4:3 IPS screen and a modular design, previously available only in white. According to Retro Handhelds, the lineup now includes an all-black model plus three dual-toned versions in red, blue and orange, in the same spirit as the interchangeable faceplates already offered for the device.

International availability remains limited, however: most of these new colors currently seem locked to the Chinese market, with the black version being the only one confirmed internationally through AliExpress, priced at $110 for the 8GB model, with shipping expected in late July. A July 4 update also confirmed the availability of additional official faceplates to further customize the device.

The Miniloong Pocket 1 packs 1GB of RAM, 8 or 64GB of eMMC storage, a 4000mAh battery, and runs Loong OS, an in-house system compatible with the most common emulators for 8-bit and 16-bit consoles as well as some handhelds. Since both its hardware and software design are open, the device is aimed primarily at tinkerers looking to modify the shell and firmware.
