Neo Geo AES+: Four More Games Confirmed for the Launch Lineup

Plaion, through its Replay division, confirmed four additional games for the Neo Geo AES+ lineup on September 22, its hardware replica of SNK's original AES console. Fighting game Karnov's Revenge (1994), puzzle games Magical Drop II and III, arcade basketball title Street Hoop (also known as Dunk Dream), and Data East's platformer Spinmaster join the ten titles already announced at the console's initial reveal.

Unlike FPGA reissues such as the Analogue 3D, the Neo Geo AES+ doesn't emulate any games: it runs on re-engineered legacy ASIC chips, guaranteeing full compatibility with original AES cartridges. The console simply adds modern conveniences like an HDMI output, DIP switches for language selection, overclocking, and permanent high-score saves via a separately sold memory card.

Three versions are planned at launch in late 2027: a standard black model with a wired controller at $250, a white Anniversary Edition at $350, and a black Ultimate Edition at $1,000. The announcement of the four new games, relayed by the @arcadecyborg account, doesn't yet specify whether more titles from the original AES catalog will follow.
