Nintendo Switch Online Adds Ninja Gaiden III, R.C. Pro-Am II and Ikari Warriors

On 2 September 2026, Nintendo expanded the NES library of its Nintendo Classics catalogue with three more titles. Ninja Gaiden III: The Ancient Ship of Doom, released by Tecmo in 1991, completes the 8-bit trilogy already available on the service and is still known for its brutal difficulty, the Western version having cut the number of continues compared with the Japanese original.

The second addition is R.C. Pro-Am II, the isometric racer Rare developed in 1992 as a direct sequel to the game released four years earlier. It brings four-player action, an upgrade system you buy into between events and far more track variety than its predecessor. Rounding out the trio is Ikari Warriors, SNK's 1986 run and gun, a conversion of an arcade classic famous for its rotary stick and two-player co-op.

Japan gets a separate addition. The Famicom app welcomes Namcot's Dragon Buster, a 1985 action title regularly cited among the forerunners of the double jump and the branching progression map, and whose influence on side-scrolling action games is often highlighted. Regional differences in the catalogue remain business as usual on the service.

The three Western games are available to every Nintendo Switch Online subscriber, with no need for the Expansion Pack, and run on both Switch and Switch 2. The full rundown of additions and access to the Nintendo Classics apps are summarised on the service's official page.
