Nintendo Switch Online: Wario Land: Super Mario Land 3 Finally Joins the Game Boy Library

Nintendo quietly expanded Nintendo Switch Online's retro library on July 8, 2026, adding three Game Boy games available to all subscribers and one Game Boy Advance title reserved for Expansion Pack members. The new Game Boy arrivals are Wario Land: Super Mario Land 3, The Sword of Hope II and Fortified Zone, while Dr. Mario & Puzzle League rounds out the Game Boy Advance side.

The arrival of Wario Land: Super Mario Land 3 is especially welcome news for the community: released in 1994, this spin-off that kicked off the entire Wario Land series had never previously been available on Nintendo's online service. In Japan, subscribers also get a fifth title, the Game Boy Advance game Tomato Adventure, exclusive to the Japanese eShop.

The update confirms Nintendo's ongoing strategy of trickling out its vast handheld catalogue in small batches rather than all at once, an approach that keeps subscriber interest alive over time but can frustrate players hoping to see more Game Boy and Game Boy Advance classics arrive faster.

The three Game Boy titles are available with a standard Nintendo Switch Online subscription, while Dr. Mario & Puzzle League requires the paid Expansion Pack tier.
