Pixy Garden, a PS1 simulation game stuck in Japan since 1999, finally gets a complete English translation

Translator Kazetrigger, of the dothacktranslate site, has released a patch fixing the last compatibility issues in his complete English translation of Pixy Garden, an obscure PS1 simulation game never released outside Japan.

Released in Japan in 1999 on PlayStation by publisher Escot, Pixy Garden is a little-known simulation game in which the player must raise a group of fairies called Pixies across different planets, managing temperature, plant life and music to help them evolve. The game never left Japan due to the lack of an official localization.

Translator Kazetrigger, who has run the dothacktranslate site since 2014, changed that by releasing a complete English translation of the game, a project finished in about seven weeks working six to ten hours a day.

A version 1.1 of the patch, released on July 2, 2026, fixes a compatibility issue affecting certain strict emulators such as DuckStation, which had prevented the original patch from working correctly on every setup.

The patch is freely available on Romhacking.net, while the dedicated PixyGarden English Fan Translation Project site offers a detailed guide for applying the patch to a game image and launching it in the emulator of your choice.
