Playmaji has just confirmed that 2 new vintage CD consoles will soon be supported by the Polymega Base Unit and the App. No names have been revealed yet - but the community is actively speculating on the candidates: 3DO, Jaguar CD, FM Towns Marty, NEC PC-FX or Commodore CD32.

Good news for Polymega users. Alongside the announcement of the Polymega Remix last week, Playmaji slipped some information that caused a lot of talk: two new vintage CD consoles will soon be supported by the Base Unit and the App - and their identity remains a mystery for now re.

📣The official announcement

Via their official Twitter account, Polymega posted:“This isn’t specific to the Remix, but we have ns two brand-new vintage CD systems loaded and ready that will be supported on both the Base Unit and the App.  More details to come.” >As a reminder, the Polymega already supports an impressive number of CD consoles: PlayStation, Sega Saturn, Sega CD/Mega CD, TurboGrafx-CD/PC-Engine CD and Neo Geo CD. The 2 newcomers will be added to this list.

🔍 The candidates according to the community

The word “vintage” used by Pl aymaji gives a few clues - we're talking about old, rare systems, probably machines that few players have been able to approach. The community quickly began speculating:

  • 3DO - the big favorite. CD console from 1993, already partial support in many emulators, substantial games library. The community has hoped for this for a long time on Polymega.
  • Jaguar CD - the CD add-on for the Atari Jaguar, produced in very limited quantities. Atari (Wade Rosen) is close to Playmaji, which makes this choice plausible.
  • NEC PC-FX - Japanese CD console from 1994, completely unknown outside Japan. Complete units are trading around $500 on auction sites.
  • FM Towns Marty - Japanese CD computer/console from Fujitsu. A unit in condition can exceed $1,000 at auction. Support would be a real revolution for preservation.
  • Commodore CD32 - Amiga's CD console, released in 1993 mainly in Europe. Popular in the Amiga community.
  • Bandai Playdia and Apple Pippin - more exotic, but never say never with Playmaji.

    💡 Why it’s important

The Polymega is positioned as the ultimate solution for playing your retro CD collection without spending on fragile original equipment. Adding rare systems like PC-FX or FM Towns is offering a window of access to game libraries practically inaccessible otherwise. Playmaji promises to reveal both systems soon.
