Aeon Genesis releases a full English translation of Real Robots Final Attack, a PS1 fighting game by Banpresto released in 1998 in Japan, twenty years after the translation project began.

Twenty years after the start of the project, Aeon Genesis has just published a complete English translation of Real Robots Final Attack, a fighting game released on PlayStation in 1998 in Japan. The project was started in 2006 by the translation team, then put on hold due to lack of resources, before finally being completed in 2026.

A forgotten game from the Banpresto catalogue

Edited pa rBanpresto, Real Robots Final Attack is a Super Robot Wars type game that features robots from 1990s animes: Z Gundam, G Gundam, Victory Gundam and the SRX robots. The title was never released outside Japan, remaining inaccessible to the vast majority of Western players for nearly 30 years s.

The translation covers the entire game text, including menus, dialogue, robot descriptions, and cutscenes. Aeon Genesis, founded by Gideon Zhi, is responsible for several reference translations for rare SNES and PS1 games never officially localized.

Commen t play

The translation patch is compatible with PS1 emulators like DuckStation, ePSXe or RetroArch (core Beetle PSX) as well as modified consoles. It applies to the Japanese ROM via a classic patcher (Lunar IPS or PPF-O-Matic).
