Recalbox 10.1.1 fixes CRT display on Dreamcast and Naomi 2, improves GunCon 2 support

The Recalbox team released version 10.1.1 of its retrogaming distribution on September 18, 2026, just weeks after the well-received launch of Recalbox 10.1. The update brings no major new feature, but fixes a batch of issues reported by the community since the previous release, particularly around Sega arcade display output and light gun handling.

Owners of CRT screens and arcade monitors are the main beneficiaries: Naomi 2 games now display correctly in full screen at normal speed, and 240p downscaling works properly again on Dreamcast, Naomi, and Atomiswave. These settings matter a lot for anyone running Recalbox through authentic retro hardware rather than a modern flat panel.

GunCon 2 calibration finally reliable

Another notable fix concerns two-player GunCon 2 calibration, which now works correctly, with clearer identification of each shooter and warnings for incompatible gun setups. The crosshair overlay MAME added on some titles has also been removed, a fix long requested by light gun game fans. The update additionally touches the Challenges system, several emulation cores including Libretro-mupen64plus-nx for N64, and Bluetooth controller support on Anbernic RG353/RG503/RG ARC and Powkiddy devices.

Recalbox 10.1.1 is available as a free download for Raspberry Pi, Steam Deck, x86_64 PC, and a long list of handhelds, with a full installation guide available on the official wiki for newcomers.
