Retroid Brings Back the 12GB Pocket 6 in a New “Top Stick” Configuration

Good news for fans of high-end Android handhelds dedicated to emulation: Retroid has just unveiled a new configuration of its Pocket 6 pairing 12GB of RAM with 128GB of storage, in a "Top Stick" layout, meaning the left analog stick sits above the d-pad rather than below it.

The Pocket 6 features a 5.5-inch 1080p AMOLED display running at 120Hz and the powerful Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, specs that are more than enough to comfortably run almost the entire PlayStation 2 library along with plenty of GameCube and Switch titles in emulation. A microSD card slot allows storage to be expanded as needed.

A surprise comeback after the 12GB model was dropped earlier this year

This new configuration responds to strong demand from the community: Retroid had in fact discontinued the 12GB versions of the Pocket 6 earlier in 2026 due to soaring RAM prices. This comeback, with 128GB of storage instead of the 256GB originally paired with 12GB of RAM, is seen as a sign that component prices are starting to stabilize. The model is available in three colors: Black, Silver and "16Bit".

This new 12GB / 128GB variant is available now starting at $279 on the official Retroid website, alongside the existing 8GB configurations.
