Retroid Pocket Duo: Two 120Hz OLED Screens In A Single Pocket

Retroid has pulled the covers off its next machine, the Pocket Duo, a dual-screen handheld built for emulating two-screen consoles, the Nintendo DS first among them. The company put out a teaser on 7 September 2026, followed the next day by the first official specifications. The video's tagline sums up the pitch: two screens, one pocket.

Both panels are 120Hz OLED, the top one in 16:9 and the bottom one in 4:3, housed in a single-piece shell that needs no cables or mounting clips. Driving it all is a Qualcomm Dragonwing Q-7790, a chip originally designed for next-generation edge devices, with a focus on multimedia processing and on-device artificial intelligence.

Price and release date remain unknown. Retroid has disclosed neither the amount of RAM, nor the battery capacity, nor the operating system, nor any commercial window. The brand usually moves quickly from teaser to pre-orders, so the missing details should show up on the manufacturer's official site over the coming weeks.

The dual-screen niche is filling up fast: the AYN Thor, the AYANEO Pocket DS, Anbernic's RG DS Plus shown a few days earlier and the Yoniq Duo are all chasing the same buyers. The deciding factor will be the combination of display and software, meaning the ability to show two DS screens properly without workarounds, and on that front the Pocket Duo's 120Hz OLED panels are already a strong card.
