RPCS3: 80% of PS3 games are now "playable" on PC

The PS3 emulator team says 80% of the library now reaches the "playable" rating, up from 75% in July, thanks to progress on CPU, GPU and PS Move emulation.

RPCS3, the open source PlayStation 3 emulator, has reached a new milestone. In a post dated October 21, 2026, the team announced that around 80% of PS3 games are now rated "playable" on PC, meaning they run with decent performance and no game-breaking glitches. Back in July, the figure was 75%.

Those extra 5 points come from better accuracy in CPU, GPU and PS Move emulation, which moved many titles from the "In-Game" category to "Playable". On specific games, Gran Turismo 5 benefits from a texture cache fix by Yahfz (missing shadows, mirror lighting, car windows flashing white), while kd-11 repaired a corrupted rear-view mirror in pre-1.05 editions.

Ratchet & Clank, Buzz and a long list of fixes

Lead developer elad335 pushed stability fixes that reportedly let all the PS3 Ratchet & Clank games run without crashes. RPCS3-compatible online servers were also added for the Buzz games, and tweaks touched Flower, Boku no Natsuyasumi 3, Armored Core: Verdict Day, 3D Dot Game Heroes, Sonic '06, Yakuza: Dead Souls and Blitz: The League II. The team promises more major updates before the end of 2026, with no details yet.

To try the emulator, download RPCS3 here and follow the official quickstart guide; the compatibility list details the status of each game. You will of course need your own games and your own PS3 firmware.
