The shadPS4 PS4 emulator ships version 0.19.0 with rewritten signal emulation, heavy GPU and shader recompiler work, H.265 video decoding and online trophy support.

The open source PlayStation 4 emulator shadPS4 released version 0.19.0 on October 2, 2026. On the core side, it brings a full rewrite of signal emulation, entitlement loading from RIF licenses and support for DLC in the ZAR format. In the system libraries, the team adds an initial np_utility implementation, TSS support, a basic HLE keyboard library and H.265/HEVC decoding in vdec2, plus several fixes for trophies, http2 and the camera.

The graphics core also gets plenty of attention: sRGB decoding for display buffers, a reworked buffer cache with batched uploads, texture layout and detiling fixes, and built-in screenshots. The shader recompiler gains many improvements too, including virtual register support, wave64 to wave32 lowering and new opcodes. Finally, the ShadNet module now supports online trophies. As always with shadPS4, compatibility still varies a lot from one game to another.
