SuperStation Pocket: Retro Remake announces an FPGA handheld for Game Boy and GBA cartridges
Retro Remake, the low-cost FPGA brand fronted by Taki Udon, announced the SuperStation Pocket on October 28, 2026, an FPGA handheld that is "coming soon" with no release date. It natively plays Game Boy, Game Boy Color and Game Boy Advance cartridges. The price is reportedly under $200 according to the source, the original tweet being cut off on that point.
Taki describes a "huge FPGA" able to run cores up to PS1 and Nintendo 64, with low latency and an open-source project. HDMI output up to 4K would go through a dock that Retro Remake plans to produce separately. Four face buttons were confirmed to improve Super Nintendo compatibility.
A different design from the SP-style handheld
This machine is not the SP-styled handheld Taki Udon recently teased. Retro Remake became known for its Switch screens and mods, with inconsistent availability, and then for its FPGA products, the Mister Pi and the SuperStation One. Final specs and exact price remain to be confirmed.
