Taki Udon teases a SuperFPGA console for the Super Nintendo
Taki Udon, the team behind the SuperStation (an FPGA console that runs PlayStation games), has posted an intriguing teaser: an image of a Super Nintendo reset button with the line "It's time to run it back. Codename SSNT/SuperFPGA". A PAL SNES reset button was also shared.
For now nothing more has been announced: no price, no specs, no release date. Retro Dodo only speculates that the device could offer overclocking, CRT filters, various screen modes and HDMI output, and says it plans to contact Taki Udon for more details.
What we know about the SuperStation
The studio's previous product is an FPGA console that plays PS1 games, loads cores for other retro systems and offers a dock for real discs, sold separately. The SSNT name hints at a similar approach for Nintendo's 16-bit machine. For now this is only a teaser: treat it as a lead, not a confirmed product.
