Vita3K keeps improving as developers say the official compatibility list already lags behind
Vita3K, the only PlayStation Vita emulator under active development with meaningful commercial game compatibility, keeps up its steady release pace. The project, whose development began in January 2018, published build 4066 on July 23, 2026, focused on improving the emulator's Linux builds.
Notably, the official compatibility page now carries a warning stating it no longer reflects the project's real state. The emulator is currently going through a major overhaul of its internal backend, which is improving compatibility with many games faster than the list can be updated. The latest available count listed 318 tested titles, of which around 217 were rated fully playable with full audio, save states and 30 to 60 frames per second, nearly 57% of the tracked catalog, up from barely 3% three years earlier. The developers encourage the community to retest their games regularly rather than rely on that already dated figure.
Vita3K is available for free on Windows, Linux, macOS and Android from the project's official website. Newcomers can follow the official FAQ, which explains basic setup and how to dump games from a legally owned PS Vita.
