Synopsis

Hunter Killer is a submarine simulation game set in the North Sea, off the German and Danish coasts of Helegoland, during World War II. You are the commander of a British "S" type submarine whose mission is to find an enemy submarine in the area and sink it. The coast is heavily mined, so if you sail too close you risk hitting a mine or running aground. If you leave the area, you expose yourself to destroyers who are looking for you. Planes patrol the area, so staying on the surface can prove fatal.

The game has three views: the control room, the periscope and the map room. In the control room, the player controls the submarine's engines and ballast, the periscope is used to spot enemy ships and the map room to navigate. Once the enemy sub is in range and straight ahead, it's time to launch a torpedo to kill it.

The game has five difficulty levels. Once the enemy submarine is eliminated, play moves to the next target. If you are sunk, the game is over.
