Synopsis

Available only in Japan and Australia, this special edition of Super Mario Bros. on Virtual Console was pre-installed in the red Wii console packs released on November 11, 2010. The 25th Anniversary Edition of Super Mario Bros. made two changes: the "?" on each question block was replaced with a "25," and the copyright date on the title screen changed from "1985" to "1985-2010." Although Nintendo's Japanese site called the game "Super Mario Bros. 25th Anniversary Edition," one of their screenshots showed an alternate title: "25th Anniversary SUPER MARIO BROS." on the Wii Channel information screen.
