Synopsis

The game is essentially a remake of the original Bomber Man, but from a first-person perspective. This change makes it much more difficult for the player to become aware of the map situation, the range of the bombs and the position and movement of the balloon monsters. In addition, destructible walls have been modified to resemble destructible walls, which may be due to limitations of the graphics engine.

The new perspective also creates a new sense of tension, claustrophobia and surprise, especially when the player is ambushed from a place they can’t see. To help, the player has a 2D aerial mini-map at the top right of the screen, although it only shows the immediate surrounding area. In addition, the map displays only the relative positions of the player and enemies, as well as the outer perimeter of the arena.

The balloon monsters in the game have been recolored to green and have a much more angry expression. In the first-person view, they look more like giant squares than balloons. The player character is the man wearing a hat from the original Bomber Man.
