Synopsis

In Decathlon you compete in ten different athletics events inspired by the Olympic decathlon. Up to four players can take part, either playing through all events in sequence or selecting individual ones. The events include the 100-meter dash, long jump, shot put, high jump, 400-meter race, 110-meter hurdles, discus throw, pole vault, javelin throw and the 1500-meter race. In the running events you rapidly move the joystick to build speed while pressing the button at the right moment, for example to clear hurdles without losing momentum. In the jumping and throwing events you build up power and then release at the correct time to achieve the best result. Points are awarded for each event based on your performance, and the player with the highest total score at the end wins the gold medal.
