While replaying Aerofighters (also known as Sonic Wings), I wondered if the second episode wasn't some sort of remake of the first.
Many ideas, bosses and settings are included there.
However, Aerofighters being such a classic shooter in its development that we cannot blame it for using all the tricks of the genre.
4 ships to choose from, weapon upgradeable with power-up and bombs. No secondary fire, no shield, classic I tell you.
In terms of production, same thing. The levels being generally the same from one shoot to another, we will not be surprised to find rural settings, cities, a flight over the ocean, a factory... beautiful destinations all around the earth to end in apotheosis in space.
So Aerofighters is average classic?
No, because we have a lot of fun there. The action is incessant, the levels are short and varied, in short there is no time to get bored.
