Synopsis

In AeroFighters Assault, a terrorist organization named Phutta Morgana has melted Antarctica and is using the water to flood Earth's cities. The player takes part in the Project Blue unit which must put an end to these terrorist acts.

As for gameplay, the game is a mix between a classic shooter like Star Fox 64 and a simulation like Pilotwings 64: the player observes the action from the back of the plane and uses the analog stick to dodge and the other buttons to shoot enemies. Each of the eight planes (six regular and two bonus) has four different weapons: two have unlimited ammunition, the air mines and the special weapon are limited to ten and two uses per turn respectively. Before each of the eight normal missions and the four bonus missions, the player can choose one of the four characters and their plane (the others become their teammates).
