Arbalester
Synopsis
Arbalester, published by Seta, was released in 1989 for arcades. The team of programmers was around 10 people according to the credits, and I wonder what they did to give us a game like this (or maybe they didn't do anything!). The result is a disaster. Do you see the screenshoot? Well it's the same thing during 3/4 of the game. You have to wait until level 7 (out of 10) to see a little variety (an island and a base: great!). Speaking of variety, the game only offers 2 songs, one of which loops 95% of the time.
Otherwise, only a single shot, upgradeable and small missiles that fall to the ground, necessary to eliminate the small boats that want to harm you... However, it is not with their infernal rate of fire (one shot every 2 seconds...) that they risk hurting you. Ditto for the planes which come in bursts of... ho, well 3 or 4 every 5 seconds. 2 smart bombs are available in case you fell asleep and the screen is covered with enemies...
So what’s left for Arbalester? Correct gameplay and... that's it...
Come on, close your eyes and move on...
