Synopsis

Archon is a turn-based strategy video game. It takes the principle of chess by adding combat phases. Each piece is placed on the chessboard according to its movement range and composes an army which represents light or shadow. When one unit attempts to take on another, both are transported to a combat arena to determine the winner. A unit can remain injured even after winning its duel, which reduces its chances of victory in a future combat. The game is won when all opposing units are destroyed or when a player occupies five power points.
