Synopsis

Arnie Armchair's Howzat Cricket Game is a cricket game for one or two players, playable with keyboard or joystick. It offers three modes: a match with limited number of overs, a one-day match or a test match, with increasing duration. In Armchair Cricket mode, player names are assigned automatically, while in Custom Team Selection mode, you can choose your own names. The game begins with a cricket field where the bowler, the wicketkeeper and two opposing batsmen are positioned. The player selects a launcher (fast, medium, spin or bouncer) and starts the game. When batting, the player controls the direction of the ball with the shot and directional keys, releasing the key at the last moment for maximum power. Fielders can stop the ball or throw it towards the wicket for a run-out. Elimination calls, such as for an LBW, are not automatic and can be overturned by the referee.
