Synopsis

Assault is a tank combat simulation whose strength and difficulty lie in handling the machine.

To control your tank correctly, you will need to use two controllers. Also, understanding the different combinations of movements and mastering them will take a considerable amount of time.
However, the gameplay is very good and the challenge interesting. Your perseverance will therefore be rewarded.

Your main weapon has little power but is quite fast. Your secondary weapon is powerful but leaves you vulnerable during its launch. To use this weapon, you must pitch your machine for more or less time depending on the distance you want to send your missile.

Another joy in handling your tank: the possibility of rolling sideways. These side steps are difficult to master but are the key to success. This is the only way to quickly avoid certain shots. Additionally, you can continue shooting during the maneuver.

The levels are not very long but always end with pseudo bosses. In principle, these are several turrets which send numerous projectiles at you.
The enemies are of several types and for the main ones we have:
- small orange tanks that follow you and become more and more aggressive as the levels progress.
- rather stupid black tanks.
- large machines whose weapons are homing missiles, a rotating repeater cannon, etc.
- Kinds of flying spiders that will send missiles at you.

Playing assault requires a certain amount of self-control. The game is difficult but really interesting once you get the hang of handling the tank. This is a gem that won't make everyone happy but is worth a try.
