A long time ago in the kingdom of Shinkoku, eight deities called the "Eight Guardian Generals" saved the world from a destructive force known only as Gohma. During the festivities that followed, the Emperor of Shinkoku was assassinated, the victim of a sinister plot, and the blame was placed on Asura. In the commotion, Asura's wife was killed, and his daughter kidnapped. Even Yasha, his brother-in-law and rival, turned against him. Awakened by a voice after 12,000 years, Asura swears revenge on all those who betrayed him.
