Synopsis

Austerlitz is a turn-based strategy video game developed by Personal Software Services and published by Mirrorsoft. It was released in the United Kingdom and Germany for Amiga, Atari ST and DOS home computers in 1989. It was also re-released in France for Amiga home computers by Mirror Image in 1991.

Third entry in a series of historical war games focused on the Napoleonic era (the first two were Waterloo and Borodino). This time the player can replay the decisive Battle of Austerlitz, which took place on December 2, 1805. You can play as Emperor Napoleon or Tsar Alexander. It is also possible to play a two-player game, or to take no side (by watching the computer play both sides).

Compared to the first two games in the series, the presentation and interface of the game have not changed. You observe the combat zone through a 3D perspective, while issuing orders by typing certain predefined text elements (combined with commanders' names, locations and times of execution). You will receive reports from your subordinates whether or not your orders were fully carried out (this is in addition, of course, to observing the battlefield yourself).
