Synopsis

Based on the animated television series of the same name, Avatar: The Last Airbender follows the adventures of a group of children living in an Asian-inspired fantasy world where nations have been divided according to the four classic elements: air, water, earth and fire. Within each nation, certain people are capable of controlling an element, they are called masters. The Avatar is a person capable of controlling the four elements and responsible for maintaining peace between the four nations. However, 100 years ago, the Avatar disappeared, allowing the Fire Nation to wage a war of conquest across the world. At the start of the series, the new Avatar, Aang (originally an airbender, hence the title of the series), has been found and must now travel the world to learn to master the four elements and fight the Fire Nation alongside his friends Katara (a waterbender from the Water Tribe) and Sokka (his older brother).
