Description

The Atomiswave is an arcade card developed by Sammy Corporation and launched in 2003, derived directly from Sega's NAOMI architecture. It features a Hitachi SH-4 processor clocked at 200 MHz and a PowerVR2 graphics processor, offering performance close to the Dreamcast. The games were distributed on ROM cartridges, a more economical format than the GD-ROM used by NAOMI. In Japan, certain terminals could connect to Sammy's AW-Net network for online ranking of players, a service closed in 2006. This BIOS initializes the system before loading the game from the cartridge.
