Synopsis

Generally considered the precursor to first-person shooters (FPS), Battlezone is a 3D tank game originally released in arcades and later officially converted to many systems. Earth has been invaded, and you and your tank are leading the defensive effort. You roam the battlefield in first-person view, targeting and shooting tanks, planes and UFOs. You have a radar that helps you spot the direction and distance of enemies. Items can be used as strategic cover. The controls realistically simulate tank tracks, allowing you to vary steering and speed settings. By combining forward-right and backward-left movements (as you can do in the keyboard versions), you change direction more quickly.
