Synopsis

In Beamrider, you pilot a spaceship gliding along five fixed energy beams, on a mission to clear 99 sectors infested with alien invaders. To complete a sector, you must destroy 15 white flying saucers. A sentry then appears; knocking down earns him bonus points. You are armed with lasers and three torpedoes per level: powerful, but limited in number. Every two sectors, a new type of enemy appears. It slows you down, but doesn't need to be destroyed. Watch out for the regenerator: shoot it and it will become an enemy; pick it up and you will gain an extra life.
