Synopsis

Beauty or the Beast allows the player to experience an adventure through a twist on the classic tale "Beauty and the Beast" through the eyes of Beauty or the Beast. From Belle's perspective, her father has been imprisoned in the Beast's castle and she must fight her way through the castle to save him. The Beast investigates intruders in his domain.

The gameplay allows the player to navigate the character through a point-and-click adventure. Browse pre-rendered backgrounds and grab assets to use later. Check the automatically drawn map for directions. Many rooms in the game also contain some type of mini-game necessary to progress the game as a whole. Mini-games include reassembling knight armor from a mess of parts; quickly light a sequence of torches; guiding a group of frogs out of a fountain via lily pads in a circle; and protect a moth from a flock of hungry spiders.

There are two owl brothers – Horace and Boris Finefeather – who respectively offer advice and assistance throughout Belle and the Beast's quest.
