Synopsis

The Big Sleaze is a humorous text adventure that parodies the detective genre. It takes place in the late 1930s and the player controls Sam Spillade, a stereotypical and not-too-bright private detective. The adventure begins when he gets a new mission: to find the missing father of his pretty wife.

The situations that Spillade has to face and solve range from the standard problem, e.g. get money, to absurd situations like a car bomb planted by the neighbor's children. And why did a dog bring a check and a photo into his office? Commands must be entered with the keyboard, but the parser only understands simple verb + noun combinations. As compensation, Spillard can chat with other people.

The game consists of three independent programs that must be solved in a linear order - the save from the previous game must be imported into the next one. Also included is the satirical e-magazine Skeptical 3.
