Synopsis

Released as a portable companion to the 3D game BIONICLE, this game obviously features different gameplay, such as no save function, reliance on passwords instead, and a limited number of lives, after which the game resets. One improvement is that all versions of the Toa, including Toa, Toa Nuva, and Takanuva, are playable. However, some fundamental elements of the story remain unchanged.

A set number of Matoran must be rescued in a level so that they can help the Turaga construct a key to access the boss room. Players use their elemental powers to fight enemies, but their powers are limited. Once their gauge is exhausted, they must find a bonus. Rescued Matoran are taken back to a shrine near the start of the level. The game also features platforming elements, with moving platforms, falling platforms, cliffs and jumps.
