Synopsis

This game is one of the most original sports simulations. Mountaineering was not a priori a sport that gave rise to in-game adaptation, but with the sponsorship and help of Eric Escoffier (famous French mountaineer who died in 1998), the software offers remarkable precision. All the essential parameters are taken into account: weight and contents of the backpack, management of hunger and fatigue, the need to have good insurance to look for in the backpack... The ascent is broken down into three phases. On flat ground, you have to move forward and jump over cracks, checking the solidity of the ground. At the bottom of a crevasse or a side, you must move forward by shaking the ice ax until you bring one knee forward, place your foot, hoist yourself up, place the other foot, and so on. Finally, on a vertical wall, you have to choose which limb to move, go up or down, pull yourself up or down, and avoid rocks.
