Synopsis

Demo version of Blades of Exile, a shareware role-playing game released by Spiderweb Software in December 1997 on Macintosh, and ported to Windows in early 1998. Designed by Jeff Vogel, illustrated by Andrew Hunter, it closes the Exile series in four episodes. Its peculiarity is the publisher that came with the game: players could create their own scenarios and broadcast them, which fed a sustainable community around the title. Three adventures accompanied the full version, including In The Valley of Dying Things and The Za-Khazi Run. Critics of the time praised the publisher while finding the graphic achievement sketchy. Jeff Vogel opened the game's source code in 2007.
