Synopsis

Blast Off is a vertical scrolling shoot'em up. Despite radically different gameplay, Blast Off is the sequel to Bosconian, released eight years earlier.
As in many other games of the same type (including Namco's Xevious), the player controls a ship, facing the top of the screen, which can move freely while the background scrolls downwards revealing enemies. The player can destroy enemies to collect points.
The game uses two buttons: one is used to fire the ship's lasers, while the other is used to cycle through its four firing modes.
The red model is two spiral lasers, while the blue model is one laser straight ahead and one behind, the yellow model is one laser straight ahead, one left and one right, and the green model is two lasers diagonally upward (one left and one right), and one straight behind. Holding the button down makes shots more powerful.
