Synopsis

Blitzkrieg is a military strategy game where you play as the German forces tasked with conquering Western Europe and England between May 1 and September 30. At the head of different units, you give them orders to dominate Western Europe. The computer controls the Europeans, but the game takes place in real time, unlike the classic system where each player gives their orders in turn before the computer calculates the result of each turn. A country only capitulates when all its cities have fallen. The game ends when you reach 100,000 victory points; so you can win if England falls, but not France. The game displays a map of Western Europe, and icons represent cities, armies, and terrain. It is based on Len Deighton's historical work, Blitzkrieg: From the Rise of Hitler to the Fall of Dunkirk.
