Synopsis

Breakthru is a side-scrolling shoot'em up in which the player pilots an armored vehicle equipped with a frontal cannon and super jumping abilities. The objective is to fight through five enemy-controlled zones in order to recover PK430, a stolen top secret plane.

The game forces scrolling from right to left, but the speed of the vehicle, and therefore of the scrolling, can be increased or reduced. In addition to its front cannon, the vehicle can make long jumps. They help avoid obstacles such as falling rocks or damaged bridges. They can also be used to avoid enemy fire and other vehicles. Buried mines increase the difficulty and will need to be destroyed or avoided.
