Bubble Bobble 2 - Extended Screens
Synopsis
The game features Bub and Bob, two children transformed into dragons and whose fiancées were kidnapped by Baron von Blubba. Bub, helped by Bob in two-player mode, must go through the game's 100 or so levels to deliver them.
Each level consists of a fixed screen with a set of more or less convoluted platforms as an environment. Monsters evolve in this setting and the goal is to eliminate them all without being hit. Dragons have the power to spit bubbles that trap enemies for a few seconds; They then just have to burst the bubble to kill the monster and reveal an object which will increase the score. There are different parameters which gradually come into play, making the challenge more complex: beyond a certain time limit, the monsters suddenly accelerate; the duration of bubble “capture” is variable and air currents can alter their trajectory.
