Buck Rogers: Planet of Zoom
Synopsis
At that time, some terminals were playing megalomaniac (no, not the Sega terminals, although this game is a Sega game...coincidence!)
it was the same with Buck Rogers.
No need to describe the game screen, look at the photo. With moving backgrounds on both sides and below the ship, the impression of movement and speed was quite effective.
The ship could move in any direction of course.
Initially, this game was presented in a capsule where you could take a seat, with a large golden handle and illuminated buttons for shooting, in short, luxury.
Many arcade games also had this type of capsule, not just a terminal, for the comfort of the players: games like this or racing games. Subsequently, and currently, they are still shooting or racing games, but no longer shoot them up.
Buck Rogers is quite varied and I remember the deep sound (I'll have to check by downloading this game) when the ship left the environment in the photo for example to battle in space.
In short, although this game has lived on graphically, the fact remains that it was able to kill wallets at the time. If I played it now, I think I could last 2 hours with one credit. At the time this wasn't the case: explosions due to collisions were common but it's the sound and those bright spots from the collision that also stick in my mind.
(description made according to my memories, without cheating by playing it again, now I can see if my memories are correct)
