Carrier Airwing was born from a blessed era of Arcade. Capcom almost never missed a game on its CPS and CPS2 terminals, partly because the same routines were used all the time? all titles running on these systems share a very similar graphic appearance and sound style? but also thanks to the developer's undeniable talent in the field of pure action.
At first glance, this sequel to U.N Squadron / Area 88 looks like a completely ordinary side-scrolling shoot'em up. We will only fully realize its interest under one condition: only allow one credit per game, the only effective method to rediscover the stress inherent in the gameplay of this era. The minimum difficulty level, by default that of M.A.M.E, is affordable. The highest is humanly impossible, but there are enough intermediate degrees to find a challenge commensurate with it.
